Prospective Graduate Students
I am currently accepting PhD students. I welcome prospective students interested in applied developmental science and education. Given my research direction, prospective students interested in interdisciplinary research focusing on early childhood and families are a good fit for the lab.

Our goal is for families to recognize their everyday practices, support their children's playful, authentic learning, and build community partnerships that enrich everyone's well-being. Culturally situated developmental & Educational processes
I examine how parents' language, beliefs, everyday practices, and culturally organized knowledge shape children’s meaning-making and learning opportunities. This work considers learning as embedded in family routines, relationships, and shared activities rather than as something that occurs only in formal educational settings.
Research Program
My current research examines how family relationships and the sociocultural contexts of everyday life shape children's early learning and development. I focus on mathematics and STEM learning, children’s use of digital media and learning tools, and the cultural, linguistic, and immigration-related experiences that influence how Spanish-speaking Latine families support and make meaning of children’s learning.
Developmental & Educational Environments
I use mixed-methods research, integrating quantitative, qualitative, and participatory approaches to examine children’s learning and families’ experiences across cultural and social contexts. These methods let me identify broader patterns while centering families’ perspectives, everyday practices, and meaning-making. I also collaborate with families and communities to co-develop culturally and linguistically responsive tools and resources.
